We blessed our sweet baby this past weekend. It was so good to gather with some family and celebrate our little ba-bee! Our sweet baby Bodie is sweet as honey. I became obsessed with doing a bee themed party and loved how it turned out! If you are wondering- a baby blessing is like a christening kind of. Saying a special prayer for our special little one! I’m so excited to share the details of our special day and our bee themed party.
I just got this couch for the party and love it. I found similar ones for double the price. It has really cute gold legs! I just got the circle goldish colored pillow too. Really inexpensive and cute!
Boden’s outfit was my favorite! Such high quality and looks like it was knitted or hand made! Sadly it just sold out but it is from Zara. Look there for baby blessing/christening clothes! Way less expensive and not cheesy and shiny looking.
Boden’s shoes are so precious! I have over 20+ pairs of these moccasins! Never fall off and match everything. Soft and high quality leather- doesn’t look like those cheapy shiny Chinese moccasins. Here they are linked!
It is safe to say these flowers stole the show! I went and picked them at a U-Pick flower farm here in Utah! Here is a post all about it and where to go! The dahlias are honestly as big as my head and it is heaven on earth! Everyone thought they were fake because they are so stunning and beautiful!
I wanted to make this cone of donuts because it kinda reminded me of a beehive! I am going to do a full post about how I did it and will update this post with that.
The whole thing that started this bee party theme was this honeycomb pan above! It is sooo cute! And so nice because it pulls apart on it’s own so it is perfect for groups.
Speaking of bundt pans- I am so obsessed now haha! I loved using tons of bundt pans for this party and think that they made a big impact on the food display. I have learned some things when working with bundt pans. Here is the spray that you have to use! So spray the pan well and then shake in flour and then tap out the excess and I have never had problems with the cake sticking. And if you are doing a chocolate cake- here is a little tip- shake with cocoa powder so the flour doesn’t show!
Here is the link to the big bundt pan that is the chocolate pan. Here is the link to the stacked mini bundt pans!
I got some flavored honey sticks at a Farmer’s Market and knew they had to be favors for the bee themed party. I just tied two together with some twine and there you go! They were such a hit- especially the pina colada flavor!
For the flower display- I just collected a bunch of vintage milk glass vases. Most of them are my moms so that was nice! But the thing I love about milk glass is that you can get it for so cheap! Head to your thrift stores and you can grab a vase for 50 cents or a $1! They are so fun to have on hand. I wrapped my dining table with some of this kraft paper. And then just scatter vases and filled random ones with flowers. I loved the look of some vases empty. And I also loved the look of the whole table being just full of them! I used about 30. So that would add up if you bought them all on Etsy. So just be on the lookout whenever you go to thrift stores and add one or two here or there.
I just got my dress and love it! This was the perfect occasion to wear it for the first time!
I love this letter board and use it all the time! It makes an appearance at every party especially this bee themed party.
Here is the link to this white cake stand! I have had it for 6 years and still use it all the time. And it looks perfect still. So inexpensive too!
If you want to know how I made the DIY hexagon backdrop I wrote a separate post on that. I share step by step instructions to this easy and cheap DIY that makes a big impact!
I also was so obsessed with the mini beehive pan. So I made a lemon poppyseed cake and then put cute little bees on them. The bees turned out sooooo cute! The bees made the cakes look so much more fancy than they really were! I just grabbed them from Amazon- here is the link!
For the food display it was kind of a feast! We did yogurt parfaits which were a hit. I just filled a bowl with plain vanilla yogurt and then had toppings. The toppings were homemade granola, blackberries, strawberries and chocolate chunks you can grab at Trader Joe’s- they were a total hit. I loved adding in these cute yellow bowls! These bowls are the best and come in different colors and sizes and you will love them. I need more colors! Even though I didn’t do a standard charcuterie board I still used my big wooden boards and they added so much! Everyone needs big cutting boards- so versatile! Here are a few linked that you will love on Amazon. Board 1 // Board 2 // Board 3
These lemonades were so tasty! A mix of lemonade and sparkling water. I loved serving apple juice in these containers– so cheap and fun! Also the fun black and white straws added to the cute bee themed party. These straws are wayyyy cheaper than anywhere else! This drink dispenser filled with water is always so nice to have. And I love the silver drink stand I have because it makes it so much easier to be able to put a cup under the stand. And I think that it makes the whole display look more finished.
Beside a parfait bar and tons of cakes we also had bacon and different egg casseroles. It was the perfect brunch menu!
Of course when you have a gathering during a pandemic we had to bring out the masks! So I am throwing this photo in for the memories haha. It was a little bit of a crazy day. But the perfect bee themed party!
And a HUGE thanks to Hanna Buss Photography for the photos! She captured soooo many sweet details I didn’t include too. Such as family holding Boden, us getting him dressed etc. I love and will cherish these photos forever! I think I am going to make a whole chatbooks book of them to remember it all! (My favorite photobooks! Use this link for $10 off!)
