I cannot believe that I have a wild one year old! Pretty much when I have a baby I already start thinking of their first birthday theme haha. Not that I want them to grow up at all but I am always down for a party. And of course I am down for a party when it involves just watching a cute baby eat all the cake. Haha wish I looked cute sitting and eating cake haha. I loved having a first trip around the sun birthday party!
I wanted to do a theme that I hadn’t seen much before and I decided on a first trip around the sun birthday party theme! The gold and the blue turned out so cute! I wanted to just keep it pretty simple party wise and it turned out great. We just had some family over, ate cake, watched Bodie eat cake and open presents. It was such a great day- Boden was SO cute and loved it all! I thought he wouldn’t care about his presents at all but he totally did! He was obsessed and played with every little thing. His grandparents gave him this cute musical instrument set and both my boys are obsessed- a fun gift idea!
As far as decorations go- I just wanted to keep the desserts the star of the show! But I did get this cute star garland from Amazon for really cheap and it turned out cute! I made this sign that talks about his favorite things and it was really cute and fun for everyone to read. And I think my favorite thing was this cute cheap banner where I put his monthly photos. It turned out so cute and was way better than me trying to make one! Also I loved that it was something fun for guests to look out and talk about. After the party I pulled the photos off and put them in the best baby book and it worked perfectly! It is the best book if you are pregnant or ever need a gift- it is from pregnancy to 18- so sweet.
The party was such a hit thanks to all the amazing goodies from The Chocolate! There are two locations- one in Orem, Utah and one in West Jordan, Utah. They are my party go to! I trust them fully to help make my vision come to life even when I am not sure what I am wanting haha. The Chocolate is such a fun cute dessert cafe and their cakes are amazing! You can buy them by the slice or whole. Boden had his own little smash cake that was vanilla and literally the best vanilla I have ever had. The big cake kinda matched and was chocolate filled with raspberry oh my gosh- heaven!
I love all their cookies, brownies etc but I think it is a tie for my very favorite between their chocolate sandwich whoopie cookie and their sugar cookies! BY FAR the best sugar cookie in Utah or just in general. Not too sweet and then the frosting is AMAZING! If you are Utah local or you visit Utah be sure to stop in- you won’t be disappointed. Really can’t say enough good things about the taste & the ease of them helping bring your vision to life!
I also love the photos that captured this party perfectly! The Busses took the photos and they are the best memories. I especially love the ones with grandparents and Boden’s great grandma. The Busses are travel photographers so be sure to hit them up!
It was just the best day for our little one! A fun first trip around the sun birthday party! I love this photo of me grabbing him out of his high chair haha him and I both got so messy! It was the best deal with the best people and the best treats! Perfect for our happy, cheery little one year old!
