Holy cow! They are not lying when they say the end of pregnancy is the longest time of your life! I almost feel like I am in jail and it is almost time for me to get out! Okay it’s not that bad & I am being dramatic but I am so excited to meet our little man. I saw this quote on pinterest, it is a little cheesy but it has been exactly what I have been thinking these past months!
I think I only ever went on one blind date but I KNOW that this baby has to be better than that date was haha.
Of course I have needed something to help pass the time and the nursery has been just that! It has been so fun! Even before we found out what we were having I was set on doing a safari neutral nursery! I don’t love baby pink or blue and wasn’t going to commit to a really frilly nursery if I was having a girl. & I also wasn’t ready for an all blue boy nursery! Once I did find out the baby is a little mr. I definitely tweaked it to be a little more boy but I am loving the neutral wood, gray and cream color scheme.
First can we start off with the crib! I am obsessed! I love the natural wood! This Babyletto crib also converts to a toddler bed which will be nice for the future! Babyletto was the highest quality brand I could find that for a reasonable price that had cribs that I liked! They are actually stylish!
In the corner I have the cutest Tnee’s Teepee I did have it all set up because I love it so much! However I decided it takes up too much room for now when he isn’t going to play with it for quite some time, so it is now folded in the corner because I still want to soak up its cuteness!
Also these sheets from The Land of Nod… I love! They have giraffe ones too that I think I need! My mom is making the baby the most precious quilt that is going to match so well so that Target throw is just temporary! This rug is from West Elm and I love that it is a circle! In fact I love this rug so much that I have a big 8×10 rug in our bedroom that is the same pattern. I kind of love that he has the small round rug & we have the same one but bigger in our room!
*Spoiler Alert* The baby’s name starts with a B but that’s all I am going to say!
The lion head which just makes me so happy is from Mudpie and was actually bought at the BYU Museum of Art gift shop.. who knew?!
I made the mobile above the crib. The tigers are actually ornaments that I bought after Christmas for cheap at World Market! I didn’t know what I was going to do with them but I knew they would have a purpose and I am so glad I got them!
I found this modern wood laundry hamper from West Elm.
I got the changing table thrifted for $10 and had plans to redo it but I actually don’t mind the lighter wood. We will see if I ever get around to it or just leave it! I have 4 Pehr Baskets in the nursery and it doesn’t seem like enough! I am obsessed with them, especially this fun pom pom one on the changing table shelf.
This wooden adventure sign is from a shop called The Native Oak, they are currently temporarily closed & I am excited for them to open again!
I just had to get this Jellycat stuffed lion! This polka dot changing pad cover is from The Land of Nod. Milk crate baskets used on the changing table & the big basket for toys were bought at Target.
I just can’t stop making gallery walls! I can’t bring myself to not make a cluster of goodness on a wall! A frame just looks so lonely on the wall by its self! I have goals to decorate more modern and minimalist but I just haven’t been able to yet!
Pretty much all of the wall pieces here are from local markets and that makes me love them even more! His dresser is an IKEA special. I wish I would have gotten the full sized dresser since it is already jam packed but I thought hey baby clothes are small, I won’t need it all, lies!
The giraffe and baby brass set was bought on eBay and I love it! The wood shelves are from a local Utah small shop named Elm Avenue Shop. The giraffe planter is another local treasure from Little Vicious. The barn wood with the minerals is another small shop find from Vintau. Little Sapling Toys is a local Utah shop but they have a great website and they are the creators of the fabulous wood alphabet! Four chairs, a local store in Lindon is where I got the fun little zebra head! Lastly the wood tray and gold mirror are from good ol’ Hobby Lobby. In the frame on the dresser, I got the bone looking frame from DownEast Home, I didn’t know what to put in the inside but I fell in love with this paper from The Paper Source. It’s actually a piece of wrapping paper so it was cheap!
I love this little nook & reading corner! I’m sure I will spend countless hours here in the middle of the night!
Besides the crib my favorite thing in the room is this chair! I searched high and low for a glider I liked! There was one I was set on and then the company switched names and it was $100 more everywhere and I decided it was the wrong color. Then I got worried that if I bought one online and it was uncomftabke I would be stuck with it. One day my mom & I decided to go into Osmond Designs in Orem and they said they only had a few gliders but when we saw this one it kind of seemed like it was perfect & meant to be! & it is SO comfy! I have been known to sleep in it already since I am just always uncomfortable and sitting up helps my heart burn!
The gray and white mirror is hung a little too high haha but it’s so heavy and kinda puts some holes in the wall so it’s staying where it’s put! It is from West Elm. The cream lamp is just IKEA.
I got the side table for only $20 at a discount store! The tissue box is from West Elm. The vase & succulent are from Gatehouse in Orem.
One of my favorite things is to frame greeting cards! It is way less expensive than buying a small print. The tiger card in the gold frame is from Rifle Paper Co. I can’t count how many Rifle cards I have framed throughout my house and for different holidays! The alphabet print in the yellow frame is from a store called Humble Dwellings in Draper.
I can’t stop buying books for our little guy! I have more than this but I have to display the jungle ones in front haha. The Jungle Book one is Babylit. All the others I bought at The Children’s Hour in Sugarhouse. There was a sweet older lady that helped me find any book that had to do with jungle animals… she probably thought I was a little crazy! The shelves are IKEA.
I love this space & it is for sure my favorite place in our home! I can often be found sitting in the chair in his room just dreaming about meeting this guy! I definitely bought all this stuff over time or had some of it & that made it a lot easier on the wallet! Since we have the space where we are living now I was set on having a full on nursery & I am so glad we do! Who knows where we will be when our other little’s come along.
Cheers to 38 weeks!
