I have always loved poppies! We have always called my grandma Poppy (& I have always loved that name for a little girl- I was sad when it started becoming popular.) Anyway my mom has some poppies in her yard & they always bloom around my grandma’s birthday- June 9th- so they have always been special to me! When we have a house someday I want to transplant a few of those poppies to my own home. I only wish they bloomed for longer! I think I also love them because they are my favorite color- not coral but more orange but not red haha- the perfect color! I can’t wait to share about how to find the Mantua Utah Poppy Fields!
I wanted to go take photos in poppies this year & heard about a few places- after some research we went to the best poppy field & I have been asked by so many people where it is. It is in Mantua- a tiny town in Sardine Canyon on the way to Logan! The magical field is in the Box Elder Campground. You will see the sign right on the main road for the campground- pull in & then drive through & toward the end on the right you will see all the poppies! They usually bloom the end of May to the middle ish of June! There is also a fun wildflower hill there as well with some yellow flowers. It really is kind of magical! It is a pretty busy place so sadly there are a lot of paths through the flowers. Also just so you know there are a ton of bees! Beck loved them a little too much & would try to pick them up but just warn your kids or talk to them before about it because a lot of kids there were crying about it haha It is the perfect day trip finding the Mantua Utah Poppy Fields!
I totally want to come here next year & camp & take all the pictures haha! I definitely want to go back at sunset next time because the sun was so harsh. Let me know if you have any questions!
