Have you ever been to the city of brotherly love!? Here are some great ideas for your next trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! Don’t miss out on these must-dos in Philly!
Liberty Bell
You gotta go see the liberty bell! There’s so much history to learn about the bell so go check it out! It’s a MUST!!
Independence Hall
Get a tour of Independence Hall! This place is chalk full of so much history. It’s the building where american legislature was first written and where the founding fathers gathered. It’s such a special place and it will forever be one of the most special buildings in american history.
Reading Terminal Market (pronounced redding)
Bieler’s donuts are SO GOOD! I just love Reading Terminal Market because there’s so much food. Your eyes are just feasting on millions of interesting types of foods. There’s indian food, french bakeries, ice cream shops, soft pretzel shops, chocolate stands…you name it!! And everything there tastes so good. Also some of the shops have amish people working there which is fun to see.
Art Museum & Rocky Steps
The Philadelphia Art museum contains many famous masterpieces. It is such an awesome museum to see. It’s also been made iconic because the steps that lead up to it are the famous rocky steps. Don’t forget to take a picture with the rocky statue right next to the steps.
Love Park
You gotta take a picture by the love sign in center city! It’s iconic!
Bredenbeck’s (BEST Ice Cream I’ve ever had)
Go to Bredenbecks! It really is the best ice cream I’ve ever had! And I’ve tried a lot of ice cream in Philly and in general.
Rita’s Water Ice
Philly and NJ are famous for water ice! It’s basically italian ice but it’s super good and Rita’s has fun flavors such as cheesecake, swedish fish, etc. You can also get a combination of water ice and custard (gelati), or just custard!
Cheesesteak (you must get one when you’re here!)
Honestly the best cheesesteak I ever got was at a random restaurant. I’ve heard Pat’s & Gino’s are ok but kind of overrated. I’m not a super huge cheesesteak fan myself (lactose intolerant…) but you have to get one when you’re in Philly. Max’s on Broad & Erie is a good choice! Sometimes the little whole in the wall places that look awful are actually the best haha.
City Hall
There’s nothing like coming out of the underground subway (SEPTA, honestly you should give it a try! So fun!) and coming right up to city hall. It’s a beautiful building and it’s fun to just walk around and see it.
African American Museum
*Disclaimer* I’ve never actually been to this museum but I always wanted to go when I lived in Philly! It’s so cool that Philadelphia is where America began and there’s so much history, especially the history of slavery, blacks, and the civil rights movement. I will totally check this place out the next time I’m here!
Hopefully you enjoyed these must-dos in Philly!
